Butte College Roadrunner Volleyball Finishes Week 4 with Split Decisions

OROVILLE, CA – The Butte College Roadrunner volleyball team wrapped up Week 4 of their 2025 season with a split of two matches played at Folsom Lake College on Wednesday, September 10th. The Roadrunners dropped their first match to the host Folsom College Falcons in four sets, but rebounded with a solid four-set victory over the Gavilan College Rams.

In their opening match, the Roadrunners fell to Folsom Lake College with set scores of 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, and 13-25. After a tough start, Butte fought back to win the third set and force a fourth, but the Falcons proved to be too strong, closing out the match.

The Roadrunners quickly regrouped for their second match of the day against Gavilan College. Butte defeated the Rams 3-1, with a strong offensive performance. Freshman Lainey Davis (#15) was named the Roadrunner Volleyball Player of the Week, earning 19 points while playing a new position at outside hitter. Her impressive performance included a .289 attack percentage with 17 kills and only 4 errors.

With the results from the tri-match, the Roadrunners' season record improves to 5-7.

The Roadrunners will be back home next week at Cowan Gymnasium with a match against De Anza on Tuesday, September 16th, and against Lemoore on Wednesday, September 17th. Both matches are scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
